The Telecommunications and Media Forum will be held on September 14 and 15.
TRA Bahrain will host the Telecommunications and Media Forum (TMF) in September, where telecommunications and media regulators from the Middle East and Africa will meet to discuss industry priorities and best practices.
The TMF, which will be held on September 14 and 15 at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, is organized with the International Institute of Communications (IIC).
Speakers from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UK, USA, Germany and many other countries will provide regional insight on topics such as digital transformation, innovation and competition , infrastructure and connectivity, digital media and on-demand services, and privacy, safety and security. Members of civil society and policy makers will also participate in the forum.
Philip Marnick, Managing Director of TRA, said: “The telecommunications industry in the MENA region is changing rapidly with the development of new technologies and new services. Regulators must adapt to this changing landscape to ensure that innovation flourishes and new services are delivered. We need to make sure consumers have access to the services and features they need while being protected online. Bahrain, one of the most connected and advanced telecommunications markets in the world, is proud to host the Telecommunications and Media Forum. The forum will allow participants to learn from each other and discuss effective approaches to the market challenges we all face. We look forward to showcasing Bahrain’s experience as one of the most advanced and competitive markets in the world – with leading 5G coverage and widespread fiber availability and playing a leading role in the shaping the future of the telecommunications industry.
Founded in 1969, the IIC shapes the global policy agenda for ICT and the digital ecosystem.
