The announcement follows the successful completion of OneWeb’s “Five to 50” program which delivered the satellites needed to bring OneWeb services to Canada, the United Kingdom and North Europe Later this year.
As part of the agreement, the companies will collaborate on opportunities to provide new connectivity services to mines, businesses and remote governments across from Canada north using OneWeb’s low-earth orbit satellite backbone.
OneWeb continues to gain momentum and execute its network deployment at a steady pace and is seeing increasing demand from customers, especially in remote locations. This agreement will allow the company to leverage Northwestel’s considerable experience, northern presence and resources to serve from Canada northern territories.
