Birmingham-headquartered IT services provider Intercity has acquired Chandler Communications, a Northampton-based telecommunications company.
The deal follows a period of successful organic growth for Intercity based on exceptional customer service across its Communications, Cloud & Security and Managed Services divisions. The purchase is part of the IT business’s strategy to support this organic growth through acquisitions.
Founded in 1986 by Perry and Jo Chandler, Chandler Communications is a highly respected family business with over 350 customers across the UK. The company shares a people-oriented business approach with Intercity, which is also a family business, making the two organizations an ideal complement.
The deal sees colleagues from Chandler Communications become part of Intercity, with the company’s Northampton site also joining Intercity’s UK office network.

Intercity recorded strong organic growth with a 108% year-on-year increase in new customers since 2020.
